Barbara Is a new friend that I met through Facebook. Her amazing talent using color and creativity captured my attention immediately and when I looked at her line work on her Commissions (which are open at the moment and very reasonably priced) I was hooked. In fact, when I looked at her art, I found something I just couldn't resist and purchased one of her fanart commissions. If you like this check out her other work and if you buy something, tell her The Madman sent you.
Who are you and what artforms do you use? Hi! My name is Barbara or what my pseudonym is: Darlstar Vampire.
What are your 5 favorite movies? Oh boy, this will be one chaotic list (hell, even my memory might fail me!) Pride and Predjuice (2004) The Guest Event Horizon Ben and Arthur Mortal Kombat (1995)
How has your craft developed Mostly self taught, with tutorials either in books or small pieces of info found on the internet. But it has been mostly focused on traditional art.
What are you artistic inspirations J.C. Leyendecker, Alphonse Mucha, Adam Hughes, Tom Lovell, Mead Schaeffer... Mostly american illustrators from the 20th century.
What is an artist or art form that is catching your attention Right now? Trying to make a better service with either shipping, merch and also making a vintage brand of artwork.
what is the best piece of advice a fellow artist gave you Not exactly an artist, but a close person in my life: If I want to do something with either drawing or making artwork, you better start working and threat it like a serious job. Have the discipline to make it work.
How do you seek opportunities to share your art Well, with tools social media can offer, hashtags, share options in groups, etc. Get your work to get known and also share each commissioned artwork to let know future clients you can get the job done.
Where would you like your art to go? Thematically and style Something more on the vein of J.C. Leyendecker, including the same mixture of advertising and such. Only one can dream to get there!
Do you have any advice for artists who come after you Yes: if you are unsure, don't seem to have time or such, don't do anything related to this unless it's a hobby. Do not half-ass it and make people waste both their time and money on something you have doubts to offer seriously.
the next question? RED or GREEN Chile? Red chile. How dare you ask that question!
